Description
This 2001 Porsche 996 GT3 RS is one of the cleanest and most original 996 GT3 RS’s available in the world today.
This car was purchased new from Porsche Motorsport in 2001 by Gary Schulteis who has owned the car ever since.
In 2002, the car finished 2nd in class in the 24 hours of Daytona, 9th overall. The car finished the 2002 season.
After the 2002 season, Gary retired the car, and it has not been used since.
The Engine has 11hrs since being rebuilt at Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA).
The car recently underwent a complete clean up and refresh of both engine and transmission after sitting for many years. The result is a “ready to race” 996 GT3RS in completely original condition.
This Porsche 996 GT3 RS is eligible to compete in the Porsche Rennsport reunions, Rolex Monterey Motorsports reunion, HSR races, IMSA Classic, SVRA races, Peter Auto and Masters Endurance Legends.

After a dominant 2000 season in the FIA GT Championship as well as winning the Nürburgring 24 hours, for the 2001 season the 996 GT3 R was modified by Porsche’s motorsport division in Weissach evolving into the 996 GT3 RS, of which they only produced 23 units for the 2001 model year, making it a rare model.
