Description
This 2016 991.1 GT3 R was previously owned from new by Falken Tires operated by Schnabl Engineering in Europe. It was campaigned by the Falken Tires Factory Team in the famous Nürburgring VLN series championship.
The team ran it in the 4-hour Nürburgring VLN racing series in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
They also raced it in the 24 hours of Nürburgring race in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

In 2019 the car was driven by Richard Hammond one of the British TV presenters from BBC Top Gear and Amazon Grand Tour car shows, at a Falken tire test in Portugal.

In 2020 it was sold to Les Long, former owner of Air Power Racing in Salt Lake City, Utah. Who ran it in a number of Porsche club series events.
It was then purchased by the current owner in 2022, who has competed at various Thermal Club events as well as in the GT Celebration race series where he won the overall 2022 GT Celebration Championship.
Underneath the current wrap is the original Falken Tire livery, which can also be noticed in the door, hood and decklid shut areas, as seen in some of the pictures.
Engine: 0 hours (Just rebuilt at PMNA March 2025)
Gearbox: 46 hours
Previously to the recent rebuild the engine had a 50-hour interval rebuild at Porsche Motorsport North America at the end of July 2021. The PMNA invoice for this last engine service is included below.
The gearbox was serviced at the same time but by an independent workshop.
Excerpt from Sven Schnabl email from the initial sale:
“as we sold the car the car has been in really good conditions. I send you the mileage as the car left our workshop.
All the mileages have been recorded, as you saw in the excel sheet. All services on the engine and gearbox side have been made at PAG. Even all the spares Les got have been in good shape an he got a mileage sheet with it!
The first race Les did, he won. After that I did not hear anything and so I do not know the conditions of the car!”
Component Life History:
Included is a copy of the parts mileage spreadsheet that came from Schnabl Engineering at the time the car was sold to Les.
All updates were completed on the car by Schnabl Engineering prior to its sale to Les.
Crash History:
Sven Schnabel reported “We never changed the chassis during the period of that car. If I remember right we replaced the front section once after a small damage, so nothing serious. The front shock absorber mounts have been replaced due to the fact that they started to crack at the Nordschleife, so Porsche manufactured (machined) top mounts out of a solid block and gave them to the Nordschleife Teams free of charge, this must have costed a fortune.”
The car had a crash at Road America PCA event the last time Les raced it. The damage was to the front right of the car. The car was repaired at a body shop after the accident.
Replacement parts included a new splitter and body work together with a new steering rack.
After the repairs the car was sold to the current owner.
The current owner has had no crashes with this car.

The car ran the VLN series in 2016, 2017 and 2018, which is a series of 4-hour races all run at the Nürburgring.
The car also ran in the 24 hours of Nürburgring qualifying races and 24-hour races in 2016, 2017 and 2018
