Description

This 2008 Porsche 997.1 GT3 Cup Car has been upgraded with an Autometrics Motorsports built 4.0-liter engine at a cost of $64,000.00 with 46 hours total runtime. Autometrics Motorsports rebuilt transmission with 5 hours total runtime since rebuild. AMS also added a Bosch Motorsports ABS system together with 997.2 front fender flares reconfigured with wider wheels.

This 997 GT3 Cup car was previously owned by Kelvin Fletcher an English actor, model, racing driver, presenter and farmer. He played Andy Sugden in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale, from 1996 until 2016. In 2019, Fletcher won the seventeenth series of Strictly Come Dancing with his professional partner Oti Mabuse.

In 2013, driving for Redline Racing, he competed in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Great Britain in this car racing under #377 and impressively finished third overall in the championship standings for his debut year in the series.

The Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Great Britain was a one-make series aimed at ambitious young racers and track-day graduates, using older 911 GT3 Cup cars, like the 997, to keep entry costs lower than the flagship Carrera Cup.
The series ran between 2010–2014, it evolved within Porsche’s motorsport pyramid and is more recently known as the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB.

Presented for the 2008 motorsport season, the Porsche 997.1 GT3 Cup represented the definitive expression of Porsche’s one-make racing philosophy; a purpose-built race car engineered in Weissach and assembled on the Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen production line.

A record 265 units were produced worldwide underscoring its significance as a true factory global race car.

Developed for the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, the 997 GT3 Cup was also campaigned globally in national Carrera Cups and GT3 Cup Challenges. It stands as one of the most successful and widely raced modern 911 competition platforms.

Powered by a 3.6-litre naturally aspirated flat-six boxer engine extensively developed by Porsche Motorsport in Weissach, with an increase of 20 hp over its predecessor. Coupled to a 6-speed sequential shift transmission with ignition cut for full-throttle upshifts and optimized gear ratios.
