Description
This 2016 BMW M6 GT3 is available immediately at Autometrics Motorsports in Summerville South Carolina.
It was campaigned by Taiwan-based FIST-Team AAI Motorsports in the 2018 Asian Le Mans Series as the #91 car. It was the winner in class for the first three rounds. It also won the GT series race in Malaysia at Sepang, driven by Jesse Krohn, Jun San Chen, and Markus Palttala.
It was purchased by the current owner in 2024 and imported into the USA. It was recently wrapped in Alpine White, with the #90 BMW Motorsport M6 GT3 launch livery. There are some pictures in the gallery of the livery when it was raced in the Asian Le Mans Series.
The BMW M6 GT3 was a highly successful endurance and GT racing car developed by BMW Motorsport. Introduced at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show to replace the Z4 GT3 ahead of the 2016 racing season. When launched, the BMW M6 GT3 was priced at €379,000.00 approximately $420,000.00.
The car competed globally in FIA GT3 series, IMSA, and Intercontinental GT Challenge, securing major victories at the Spa-Francorchamps and Nürburgring 24-hour races before its retirement in 2021.
The M6 GT3 had a spectacular first season, clinching overall victory at the prestigious 24 Hours of Spa in 2016, and again in 2018.
It won the 8 Hours of Indianapolis in 2020 and to mark BMW’s 20th overall victory at the famous “Green Hell” it won the 24 Hours of Nürburgring in 2020, achieving one of its most notable milestones.
The BMW M6 GT3 was a highly successful, purpose-built endurance racecar designed by BMW Motorsport. It was renowned for its exceptional high-speed stability, robust aerodynamics, and driver-centric cockpit layout.
Powered by a type P63B44, M TwinPower Turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine producing around 585 horsepower at 6,700 rpm with approximately 553-foot pounds of torque, coupled to a rear mounted 6-speed sequential racing transaxle gearbox. With a minimum dry weight of 2866 pounds, dependent on series balance of performance (BOP) rules, it was capable of a top speed of around 185 miles per hour.
Based off its series production counterpart it went through a massive weight reduction, the chassis shed roughly 1320 pounds, largely due in part to the incorporation of an extensive amount of carbon fiber components and panels.
A near perfect weight distribution of 52:48 front to rear achieved by the rear mounted transaxle configuration.
It incorporates an enhanced custom-built, FIA-approved safety cell, built with driver safety as a top priority, featuring a front to rear centrally positioned driver’s seat pushed far toward the rear for both safety and ideal weight balance.
The wind-tunnel developed and optimized body produces extensive downforce balanced by the large adjustable rear wing.
The BMW M6 GT3’s long wheelbase provides unparalleled stability on high-speed circuits like the Nürburgring Nordschleife with great traction out of corners.
